Empowering young change-makers to transform livelihoods and create opportunities for all

India may have already surpassed China as the world's most populous country. We are on track to become the world’s third largest economy by 2027, surpassing Japan and Germany, and have the third largest stock market by 2030, thanks to global trends and key investments we have made in technology and energy. India's per-capita income increased on average at a rate of 5.6% each year from 2014 to 2019.
However, per capita income is only an indicator of an average. Given India has extreme inequality, it's not a good indicator of what's happening at the bottom 60-70% of the population. Rising concentration of incomes at the high end means incomes of those at the lower rung of the income ladder may not be changing much.
India is at a point in its demographic transition where we need to maximize the chance of capturing the demographic dividend, which is expected to peak in 2041 as per the Economic Survey (2018-19). The “low road” for achieving high employment, characterized by a focus on expanding low-wage jobs, has not worked in all countries and often led to continued poverty traps. Micro-entrepreneurship provides tremendous potential for reaping this demographic dividend. The nation needs to create 12 million jobs per year to absorb the addition of young people into the workforce. There is broad agreement about the relative power and role of entrepreneurship in capturing a demographic dividend.
LetsEndorse has developed the UDYAMITA model for democratizing social and economic equity through entrepreneurship. We believe that every person should receive an opportunity to redefine their lives and livelihoods irrespective of the conditions they were born or raised into. We also strongly believe in the power of entrepreneurship as an equalizer in leveling the socio-economic field.

UDYAM Young Professionals Fellowship Program - Our Theory of Change
Meaningful change can be brought about by a collective force of leaders who share a vision of a poverty-free and potential-rich India. In line with this vision, we have handpicked the path of enabling sustainable livelihood for all as the means to achieve it. Over the next five years, we have the incredible opportunity to empower 1 million micro-entrepreneurs, generating at least 3 million direct employment opportunities, and creating a massive impact on the grassroots economy of the country.
UDYAM Young Professionals Fellowship Program is a first-of-its-kind, experiential, 18-month long, paid Fellowship in transformative leadership for young graduates to groom themselves into competent leaders and doer, who will go on to create large-scale societal impact.
The Fellowship is highly selective and only 2-3 Fellows shall be appointed, who will immerse themselves in extensive field-work, following the “learning by doing” philosophy.
UDYAM Young Professionals Fellowship Program is designed to support the next generation of change leaders in their journey towards becoming competent and multidimensional livelihood professionals. The program offers a range of opportunities and experiences that allow Fellows to enhance their execution capabilities while also broadening their intellectual breadth. They solve real-life problems faced by micro-entrepreneurs and proactively assist them across the entire value-chain of their enterprises, with a firm goal of catalysing maximum livelihoods. They engage with and are mentored by inspiring individuals from LetsEndorse and its partner network.
Every Fellow is entrusted with leading the livelihoods mission, running interventions, and creating an impact. Over the course, the Fellows mould themselves into well-rounded leaders and livelihood professionals through their hard work, determination, and learning appetite. As they continue to inspire thousands of self-motivated youth across India to follow the entrepreneurial path, the Fellows will transform into hands-on social change leaders who will touch the lives of at least a million people.
This Fellowship is a unique opportunity for young professionals to unleash their full potential and develop the necessary skills to make a lasting impact on society. It is designed to offer a rich experience that combines theory and practice, enabling Fellows to acquire a holistic understanding of the livelihoods sector. The Fellowship experience is bound to be rewarding, challenging, and transformative, providing Fellows with the right skills and knowledge to build successful livelihoods and empower countless micro-entrepreneurs.
After successful completion, the Fellows shall be well-equipped to join LetsEndorse pursue higher education or build a career in banking, finance, policy, consulting, or other allied fields.
We hold our Fellows to a high standard of self-learning, but that does not mean that they are left to their own. In fact, our Fellowship program is designed to provide our Fellows with a multitude of opportunities to learn and grow. Our Fellows are not limited to one medium of learning; rather, they are encouraged to take advantage of every input, connection, and opportunity to learn that is available to them.
We understand the high degree of responsibility that each Fellow is vested with, and we trust them to rise to the challenge. Each day of the Fellowship should be an opportunity for our Fellows to create a tangible and measurable impact in the lives of the micro-entrepreneurs that they engage with.
Fellows are entrusted with identifying and mobilizing aspiring/micro-entrepreneurs, enabling their training, facilitating credit linkage, building market linkage, and implementing various policies and schemes related to micro-entrepreneurship in close coordination with government authorities. This fieldwork and community engagement provides a unique opportunity for Fellows to engage with real-life problems and challenges faced by micro-entrepreneurs, thus equipping them with practical skills and knowledge.
Fellows get the opportunity to interact directly with state government authorities, banking institutions, business leaders, subject matter experts, and mentors who play a crucial role in enabling micro-entrepreneurs. This exposure to a diverse set of stakeholders allows Fellows to gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem in which micro-entrepreneurs operate, thus preparing them to become effective and empathetic leaders.
Through a series of workshops and training sessions. These sessions focus on enhancing Fellows' domain knowledge, including an overview of the livelihood sector, diverse government schemes offered by various ministries and financial institutions, and overall competency-building through effective communication, stakeholder management, pitching, time management, skill enhancement, and knowledge of platform/technology.
Through these multiple responsibilities and learning pathways, Fellows can build and hone their competencies in implementation, fieldwork, collaboration, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership.
As a Fellow, your responsibilities will involve extensive field work in the districts assigned to you.
You will have to mobilize candidates, interact with them, gauge their competencies and gaps, provide guidance and support entrepreneurs through the credit process, if required.
You will need to liaise with banks, understand banking procedures, and ensure formalisation and regulatory compliance.
Building a support community of peers, mentors, and experts, assisting with forward and backward linkages, and enabling micro-entrepreneurs holistically will also be a part of your duties. You will also need to collaborate with relevant departments in the Delhi Government to ensure seamless implementation of policies and schemes.
While these responsibilities may seem challenging, we encourage our Fellows to hustle and work hard, while also creating sustainable impact, networking, and enjoying the process.
We believe that this Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for our Fellows to gain valuable experience, grow as leaders, and make a meaningful contribution to society.
We hold high expectations for our Fellows and require 100% commitment from them in all aspects of the Fellowship.
This means that while pursuing the Fellowship, we expect them to refrain from engaging in any other side hustles, part-time employment, freelancing assignments or competitive exam preparations.
